Privacy Policy

Shyft is an iOS app for discovering and downloading Apple Shortcuts, with an optional community where people can share shortcuts, post requests, comment, and interact. This policy explains what information Shyft collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It reflects what the app actually does.

No ads · No tracking

Information you provide

• Sign in with Apple. When you choose to join the community, you can sign in with Apple. We receive an Apple user identifier and, if you use Apple’s “Hide My Email” relay, a relay email address. We do not receive your Apple password.
• Guest accounts. You can participate without Apple by using an anonymous account, which is a random identifier stored for your device. It has no name or email attached.
• Profile. A username you choose, and optionally a display name, short bio, and profile photo (avatar) you upload.
• Community content. Posts, shortcut submissions, comments, likes, and saved items you create.
• Safety data. Reports you submit about content or shortcuts, and users you choose to block.

Information collected automatically

• Push token. If you enable notifications, Apple’s Push Notification service issues a device token that we store so we can deliver the notifications you opted into.
• Basic usage. Aggregate shortcut download counts (used to show how popular a shortcut is) and your community interactions such as likes and saves, associated with your account.
• Technical logs. Our servers may record standard request information such as IP address and timestamps for security, abuse prevention, and reliability, and retain it for a limited period.

Stored only on your device

Your favorite shortcuts and your appearance/language preferences are stored locally on your device and are not sent to our servers.

What Shyft does not collect

Shyft does not access or collect your precise location, contacts, photo library, microphone, camera, or health data, and does not use advertising identifiers. Shyft contains no third-party advertising and does not track you across other apps or websites.

How we use information

• To provide the app and the community experience.
• To deliver notifications you have enabled.
• To keep the community safe (reviewing reports, honoring blocks, moderating content).
• To secure the service and prevent abuse.

Service providers and sharing

We do not sell your data. Shyft’s backend runs on our own servers. We rely on Apple for Sign in with Apple and for delivering push notifications. We share information only as needed to operate these features or to comply with the law. There are no advertising networks or third-party analytics SDKs in the app.

Data retention

We keep your account information and community content while your account exists. When you delete your account, your personal data is removed and some community content may be anonymized (see below). Technical logs are kept only for a limited period.

Account deletion

You can permanently delete your account from within the app (Settings/Profile → Delete Account). Deletion removes your profile and personal information and detaches your device from push notifications. To preserve the integrity of community conversations, some content you posted may be retained in an anonymized form (no longer linked to you). Where you signed in with Apple, the app also revokes Shyft’s Sign in with Apple authorization.

Your rights

You can view and update your profile in the app, and delete your account at any time. For any privacy request or question, contact us at the address below.

Children

Shyft is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
